KP Astrology: A Revolutionary Approach
KP Astrology is an extended form of Vedic astrology. Its name KP is on the name of its founder Shri K. S. Krishnamurthi. KP stands for Krishnamurthi Paddhati. It is based on the study of stars or constellations. Its main characteristics are as follows:-
- For a brief introduction of KP astrology, you may click here.
- As per KP astrology, a planet first gives results relating to houses of ownership and occupation of its star lord. Thereafter, it gives results pertaining to houses of its ownership and occupation. These results can be witnessed during dasha of a planet.
- Moreover, if in a horoscope, a planet is a star lord of some other planet, it is said to be a tenanted planet. Such a tenanted planet is said to not give results pertaining to houses of its own ownership and occupation. Rather, it gives results only relating to houses of its star lord’s ownership and occupation. Thus, a tenanted planet is treated as a weak planet,
- On the other hand, if in a horoscope, a planet is not a star lord of any other planet, it is said to be an untenanted planet. Such an untenanted planet gives results relating to houses of its star lord’s ownership & occupation as well as of its own ownership & occupation. Thus, an untenanted planet is treated as a strong planet.
Krishnamurthi Paddhati Astrology: Quality of Results
- As already stated in the previous section that a planet gives results relating to houses of its star lord’s ownership & occupation and also of its own ownership & occupation if it is untenanted.
- In KP astrology, there is a provision to check the quality of results of a planet. It is decided by good or bad houses of ownership & occupation of Sub Lord of the planet concerned. If a sub lord represents good houses, results will be auspicious and if it represents bad houses, results will be inauspicious.
- Similarly, each house or Bhava of a horoscope consists of at least three co-ruling planets. These are Sign lord, Star lord & Sub lord. Here also, Sign lord & Star lord indicate about the results to be fructified whereas Sub lord indicates about the quality of results relating to specific bhava.
- In KP astrology, there is a provision of identifying significators for different bhavas. There are four categories or grades of significators. First, any planet in the star of occupant-planet of a bhava is treated as the first rate/grade significator of that bhava. Second, the occupant-planet of a bhava is treated as the second rate/grade significator of that bhava. Third, a planet in the star of the owner of a bhava is treated as the third rate/grade significator of that bhava. Fourth, owner of a bhava is treated as the fourth rate/grade significator of that bhava.
KP Astrology: Promise of Events & Fructification of Results
- For checking promise of events, there are primary and supporting houses or cusps for all the events of life.
- For example, for examining promise of marriage, primary house is seventh cusp or bhava and supporting bhavas are 2nd and 11th houses.
- Here, if Sub lord of 7th cusp at its own level and also at its star lord level indicates 2nd, 7th and 11th houses, it shows that marriage for native is strongly promised.
- However, quality of marriage will be decided by the houses signified by the sub lord of sub lord of 7th house.
- On the other hand, if sub lord of 7th house at its own level or at its stellar level indicates none of these houses, it means that marriage for native is not promised.
- If marriage is promised, when will it materialize? It will depend on the joint dasha periods of the significators of 2nd, 7th and 11th houses.
- Whenever these significators are going to have their dasha, antara & bhukti periods jointly and also, they are transiting in the relevant houses, marriage is likely to materialize during that period.
